The 4Runner has a 40-year history of delivering adventure to off-road fans, with the all-new model landing at Toyota dealerships in early 2025

The sixth-gen Toyota 4Runner is finally in showrooms now, after 15 years of the fifth-generation model. It comes with your choice of two powertrains: a 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder and a 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid. Prices range from the low 40s to the upper 60s.

The previous generation is easy to fall in love with over time despite its terrible road manners and sluggish, fuel-slurping V6, but Toyota had a chance to turn the 4Runner into a much more balanced vehicle as well as an even more capable off-road vehicle.

Both rugged and attractive, Toyota turned the relatively pedestrian 4Runner into something capable of running with the Jeeps.
