Lowery started 11 games at linebacker in his one season at Wisconsin but failed to have as big of an impact as expected.

Lowery initially spent four seasons at Syracuse before transferring to Wisconsin to help revamp the team's pass rush under Mike Tressel. In 2023, Lowery was a key starter for the Orange, registering 46 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks.

According to Jesse Temple of The Athletic, outside linebacker Leon Lowery will enter the transfer portal after just one season with the Badgers. Lowery, who transferred to Wisconsin from Syracuse over the summer, had just one sack in 2024 and 29 tackles (18 solo).
