The Detroit Lions made another veteran addition to the linebacker room, signing Kwon Alexander off of the Denver Broncos practice squad. Alexander will be on his seventh team in 10 NFL seasons, and is on Detroit's active roster as a result of the team claiming him off of another practice squad.

Kwon Alexander has agreed to sign with the Detroit Lions to bolster their banged-up linebacking corps. Drew Rosenhaus, his agent, confirmed the agreement Friday. The 30-year-old inside linebacker has been on Denver's practice squad after starting in two games and playing in another as a reserve this season for the Broncos.

First reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Alexander was initially signed to the Broncos’ practice squad following Week 3, which saw linebacker Alex Singleton suffer a season-ending injury. Fellow veteran linebacker Zach Cunningham was also signed at the time to the practice squad.

The Lions have signed linebacker Kwon Alexander off the Broncos’ practice squad to their own 53-man roster. Denver could have prevented it by promoting Alexander, but the team previously opted to promote Zach Cunningham from the practice squad to the active roster earlier this week.

The Detroit Lions are signing yet another reinforcement for their banged-up defensive on Friday, with the team reportedly signing a defensive lineman off the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad. It's the second reported signing the Lions have made since their Week 13 win.
