Following Tuesday's massacre of 26 mostly Indian tourists, hostilities have intensified between India and Pakistan over the hotly contested Kashmir region.

The April 22 attack in India's Jammu and Kashmir territory was the deadliest on civilians in nearly two decades in the country.But the area has long been a source of tension between India and Pakistan.

For the first time, India on Wednesday suspended the World Bank-mediated Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, which ensures water for 80% of Pakistani farms.
