England captain Ben Stokes will not take part in next year's Indian Premier League after opting out of the upcoming auction.Under tighter rules regarding player availability introduced this year, it means the 33-year-old will also be unavailable for the 2026 competition.

James Anderson, the legendary fast bowler who retired from international cricket in July, has registered for the upcoming IPL auction. Despite last playing a T20 game over a decade ago, the 42-year-old has expressed a belief by registering for the league that he can still compete at the highest level .

Interestingly, Anderson has never competed in a global franchise T20 league, and his last T20 game was in 2014 for Lancashire.
