Police are appealing for information after a man died following a collision on the A1 near the MetroCentre. Northumbria Police were called around 10.15am today (Monday, November 25), after a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a heavy goods vehicle on the A1 southbound, near the Metrocentre junction towards Dunston.

The A1 was closed to traffic after a fatal crash involving an elderly pedestrian. Northumbria Police has now confirmed an man in his 80s was killed when he was hit by a HGV on the A1 near the Metrocentre on Monday morning. Both sides of the road was closed after the collision which took at around 10.15am on Monday.

A man has died after he was hit by a car on Saturday night in Bexhill, police have said. Sussex Police said the crash happened at 20:20 GMT on 23 November on the A259 Barnhorn Road, outside Custom Café.
