In the modern pool, 2025 is the 5th year of eligibility for Justin Tuck, another two-time Giants champ who, unlike Eli, did receive All-Pro selections. Tuck also had fantastic Super Bowls, with two sacks and a forced fumble in XLII and two sacks in XLVI. Tuck has never been discussed.

Longtime New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning was one of 25 players named semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2025 on Wednesday.

Because according to pro football historian Jack Silverstein (@ readjack.bsky.social on BlueSky), Manning is now basically a lock to one day enter the Hall of Fame based on his being a first-ballot semifinalist. Be it this year or somewhere down the line, Manning will soon get a bronze bust of his head.

Manning is in his first year of eligibility for Hall of Fame consideration, having retired in 2019 after 16 NFL seasons, all with the Giants. The former quarterback ranks 11th in NFL history in passing yards (57,023), passing touchdowns (366) and completions (4,895).

Semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2025 include six first-year eligible candidates, headlined by Eli Manning.
