To put it mildly, Young & Restless’ first crossover with Beyond the Gates was a rousing success. The story, in which Devon pitched the idea of signing Anita to his record label, made sense, right down to their off-screen history.

Bryton James’ Devon recently hopped over to Beyond the Gates from The Young and the Restless for a meeting in Fairmont Crest, marking the first big crossover between the shows. But it seems that Devon’s brief appearance in Beyond the Gates was enough to convince fans that he belongs to the show.

As of Aug. 11, Beyond the Gates and The Young and the Restless officially exist in the same universe. Monday’s episode of Beyond the Gates welcomed Bryton James as his Y&R character Devon Winters, and he had serious business to discuss with the first family of Fairmont Crest.
