Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson was placed in the concussion protocol and backup safety Deon Bush was lost for the season to a ruptured Achilles tendon sustained during their first preseason game Saturday night.

When Chiefs safety Deon Bush left the team's first preseason game with an Achilles injury, the obvious concern was that he suffered a season-ending tear of the tendon.

Kansas City Chiefs safety Deon Bush is like out for the 2025 NFL season after suffering a torn left Achilles tendon during the preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals, coach Andy Reid confirmed. "He's got to have surgery," Reid said. "... It's too bad because he's really been playing well. Great kid, too."
