Josh Brolin recently opened up about a tense moment he shared with Denzel Washington on the set of the 2007 crime drama 'American Gangster.' Directed by Ridley Scott, the film starred Washington as the notorious criminal Frank Lucas and featured Brolin in a supporting role during a pivotal point in his rising Hollywood career.

That includes putting his hands on Denzel Washington. Brolin worked with Washington on Ridley Scott’s 2007 film American Gangster. He explained during an interview with Graham Bensinger that producer Brian Grazer had been walking around the set literally singing praises for Brolin and co-star Russell Crowe.

In American Gangster, Brolin played a detective investigating Washington's lead character Frank Lucas, a prominent New York City gangster in the '60s and '70s. For Brolin, the movie was an opportunity to work with "some of my favorite actors" — but he and Washington experienced trouble when Washington changed Brolin's lines for a scene last minute.
