The Red Sox avoided a sweep at the hands of the lowly White Sox thanks to Garret Crochet tossing a near no-no, but not much went right for Boston the weekend in Chicago.

Garrett Crochet struck out 11 in 7 1/3 innings in his first start against his former team, and the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox 3-1 on Sunday to avoid a series sweep. Trevor Story hit a two-run double and a solo homer for Boston, which had dropped five of six. Alex Bregman had two hits and scored a run.
