Chappy, the gray seal pup that was found on a New Haven street in late February, has died while in the care of Mystic Aquarium, the aquarium posted on Facebook.

Chappy, the gray seal pup found stranded on the streets of New Haven, has died. Mystic Aquarium says although Chappy initially responded well to treatment for dehydration, malnutrition, and a mild pneumonia,

The Mystic Aquarium says Chappy the gray seal suffered from a condition in which his intestines were twisted, cutting off the blood supply to a large portion of his gastrointestinal tract. The aquarium says its staff is devastated.
