Australia's Matt Short looks set to miss the Champions Trophy semi-finals after suffering a thigh injury during Friday's abandoned Group B match against Afghanistan in Lahore.

Australia are likely to have to alter their top order for the Champions Trophy semi-final after Matthew Short picked up a quad injury against Afghanistan which is expected to rule him out. Short suffered the injury late in Afghanistan's innings and though he did open the batting alongside Travis Head,

Ahead of the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Australia suffered a major setback as opener Matthew Short got injured on Friday, as per the ICC. Short injured his calf while fielding and appeared hampered when making a quickfire 20 at the top of Australia's batting order before rain saw the match with Afghanistan in Lahore abandoned.
