Evacuation warnings are lifted after a brush fire on a hillside between Jurupa Valley and Fontana breaks out Thursday night, burning 284 acres by Saturday morning.

The Canyon Crest Fire was first reported at around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Canyon Crest Drive and Weeping Willow Lane, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. The fire was burning south of Highway 60 near Canyon Crest Drive in Riverside County.

A wildfire that ignited on Thanksgiving Day and burned dangerously close homes in Riverside County grew significantly overnight. The Canyon Crest Fire had scorched 250 acres as of 6 a.m. Friday, Cal Fire officials stated in an update.
