At least eight people died, including three children,  after a seven-storey building collapsed in Sierra Leone's capital on Monday, authorities said, with more trapped under the rubble.

The West African country's National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) said six people had been rescued from the rubble on Shell New Road so far,

A building collapse in the most populous Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has claimed eight lives and injured 28 people, police said. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in Lucknow ’s Transport Nagar area, and rescue efforts are still underway.

Sierra Leone's Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh said Tuesday the death toll from a seven-storey building collapse in the capital a day earlier had risen to at least nine, as rescuers searched for survivors.
