Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, Advance Auto Parts operates more than 4,700 stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. According to its website, the company also serves 1,125 independently owned Carquest-branded stores across these locations, in addition to Mexico and some Caribbean islands.

The closures will include 500 corporate-owned stores, 200 independent locations and four distribution centers.

Advance Auto Parts is permanently closing its stores in Ventura, Oxnard, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks in early March.

Advance Auto Parts will continue to close hundreds of stores and four distribution centers this year, including more than 90 California locations.

Another week, another casualty of the current “retail apocalypse.” A major auto parts retailer is closing hundreds of stores across the United States. Advance Auto Parts announced via press release in November 2024 its “strategic plan” to shut down more than 700 stores by mid-2025.
