An Oak Park police detective, who was shot during an incident in the morning hours of Black Friday, died from his injuries, the village said.

Detective Allan Reddins died after the shooting attack, police said. A suspect was also shot and taken to a hospital after being seen leaving a bank on Lake Street with a gun, which prompted the initial response,
