The three largest Southern California wildfires -- the Bridge, Airport and Line fires -- all started in early September during a stretch of extremely hot days.

More than 80 homes were destroyed in the massive Airport Fire that scorched through tens of thousands of acres in Orange and Riverside counties as people fled for their lives.
