A Lakeville man who was jailed over suspected witness tampering during the trial of Feeding Our Future co-defendants Aimee Bock and Salim Said has now pleaded guilty to his role in the $250 million fraud scheme.

Under Abshir’s plea deal, both sides agreed that federal guidelines recommend 63 to 78 months in prison on the wire fraud count, a sentence made tougher because of Abshir’s attempt to intimidate the witness. He also agreed to pay nearly $2.3 million in restitution and forfeit a 2021 Range Rover he bought with his proceeds.

A 33-year-old Lakeville man accused by a judge of witness tampering in an upcoming trial over the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme has pleaded guilty to wire fraud.

Judge Tony Leung ruled that one suspect, Abdinasir Abshir, will now remain in jail pending his trial in August after prosecutors accused him of tampering with a witness in the separate trial of Feeding Our Future’s former executive director,

The 37th defendant to plead guilty in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme will face an enhanced sentence after he tried to tamper with a witness about to testify in trial.

Abdinasir Abshir, who allegedly attempted to tamper with a witness in the ongoing Feeding Our Future trial, was arrested Monday and is being held in federal custody until a hearing on his case Friday.

On top of his role in the Feeding our Future scandal, Abshir is alleged to have tried to pull a cooperating witness aside for a one-on-one conversation in the courthouse bathroom on February 18th. Abshir is the 37th person to plead guilty in the scandal. The trial against founder Aimee Bock is still ongoing.
