Showers will continue to filter out for the rest of your Mother’s Day evening. The severe threat is minimal, but we are watching for areas of flash flooding.
Monday is NEXT Weather Alert day as strong-to-severe storms are expected to develop in the afternoon and work their way throughout the metro area . On Sunday, which was also a NEXT Weather Alert day, the strongest storms were felt between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The heaviest rain was recorded near Cutler Bay.
A more active severe weather pattern is ahead beginning later this week in the Plains and Midwest that could produce large hail, wind damage and possibly a tornado threat.
