I looked at the online map to answer your question and Cabin 6 is near water and cabin 7 is out in the woods. Go to the reservations page and start the reservation process by picking dates (it does not matter which dates as you are not going to finish the procedss - you have to pick a minimum of three days I believe) then a map will come up for you to choose a cabin. You can look at it in detail then. To answer your question about ability to cast - there were trees and brush along the bank where our cabin was, but I did not fish. I did see some people on the other side of the lake fishing where it is wide open and they had boats to rent. I loved the place! It looks like a good place to fish. They drained the lake about two years ago to make repairs to the dam and I believe they restocked it when they filled it back up.
