Non-Merged is mostly used by people that want to delete games out of the MAME set and only use specific games and since non-merged sets don't have dependencies like the split set it makes it perfect for that.

It was a fresh build, I didn't have a MAME rom set previously installed. I got the rom set from Pleasuredome (as per the instructions at the beginning of the thread).

WEBFeb 22, 2021 · Just copy the file mame-aknf.bat in your Mame romset folder (must be a non-merged romset) and open it. It'll create a folder called AKNF and all the roms will be there. The bat file won't move any roms so it doesn't break your source romset, it's safely copying the rom files in the newly created AKNF sub-folder.

To do this open your command prompt (dos looking window) and navigate to your Mame folder. Now run the following command: mame64.exe -cc. You should now have a mame.ini file.
